Feed Neck question

I've just stripped down my marker, for the first time, and relised that the feed neck would'nt come unscrew, so after asking it nicely... it did give and it was fine. The problem was a small metal ring around the top of the feedneck thread, it was misshaped and the perious owner must have forced it back on, since it now won't go back on is it fine to leave it off? Also, what the hell is it?

It might help if you told us what marker you have and/or post up a picture of the parts.

I'm sure if you do then someone will have the answer you need.

Sorry missed that detail... It's an invert Mini and the part looks like this...

All i can say is that its metal and thiner than an oring

not sure, but it might be mishaped to make it clip on.

Maybe, but it won't go back on, i can't really see it making much of a difference, but thought I should ask people who would know.

providing that the thread on the gun is still ok. Get a new feed neck (any ion/aka threaded one will work) use some locktight blue and bob's your uncle and lumps your dad

I mean the ring wont go back on the feek neck, sorry if I didn't say that, the feed neck goes in fine of the gun. Was wondering weather opr not the ring was, I don't know, special?

Most likely as it uses the old SP threads and they suck monkey nuts!

Ive got an Impulse knocking around some where and it did exactly the same thing when i replaced the feed neck
