7 Man Tournament - Blackpool beach?

Not sure about how big you would like this event to be, but would it be worthwhile fishing about for a US Pro team to come along? I am sure you could ask some of the industry boyos (DYE, SP etc etc) to arrange an attendance from someone??

I think this would be a massive draw for teams, the chance to go head to head with Ironmen, Dynasty and the like. If it is only going to be a one off special, the US teams should have no problems with contractual agreements. I personally would pay for the opportunity, I would probably even pay to go and watch if i couldn't get to play.

One of the factors of the attendance of the US pro teams would depend on their event & training schedule, and of course their normal life commitments, and whether the date of this event fits in with that.

I would like to see them come over, but in all honesty I don't think time and finances would facilitate whole teams coming over from the USA.

However, I am on good terms with DYE in the US & UK due to their sponsorship of the UK Refs, so I will talk to them and see if we can come up with something.

I will speak with Planet also re their stable of talent also.

If we only get a handful of US pros over, it will be a big plus for the event, as I was thinking of presenting an "All Star" exhibition game along the lines of the PSP idea - East v West for the US, North v South for the UK, as it would be an additional attraction.

I don't know anyone at Smart Parts, so I can't help with Dynasty i'm afraid.

We could also have an "exhibition" game with the refs v everyone else!

Who would be up for that?!

My personal opinion is you need to try and get something set in stone from the council first mate to say you can hold the event then you can you through the finer details dont wanna knock anyone back but surely thats the way to go?

That part is the easy bit - they DO want a paintball event, so now it's up to me to work out all the costings.

I'm having a meeting tomorrow re the costings, so i'll keep you posted.

Just to clarify, the accounts for this event will be available for inspection by anyone, so they can see what the budget and sponsorship has financed.

I have no idea how this would work but try getting out side companys and new blood into this event. Get local bands in to play at the event, let the loacl schools come up with the event banner, small things like that. Get the local police, fire, ambulance and even the army ( TA ) in to set up stands in order to get people looking around. It is time to think out side the box if the event is going to be a hit.
