I dont see a huge problem with sand as it's not light fly away sand it's more wet ish sand. :S of course it's going to be an issue but i dont see it as a huge issue......

jonathan, i mean this in the nicest way possible but asking microsoft and thinking of all these idea now is all well and good but without a set venue and time, even approval from the council is it worth worrying about the finer details?

i think at this point he is just throwing ideas around to see what reaction he gets

but if he is ringing companies, showing his part, then saying he will get back to them in a month/gets approval..... it could lead them to think they are wasting their time.....

if im getting the wrong end of the stick and just throwing ideas out to us and not the companies in question, i will stand corrected.

Thanks again for posting up all these points, gents.

I just wanted to see if you guys would like to have a video game demo running there, as I have seen this at US events.

XBox was the obvious choice because of the Greg Hastings connection.

I have a contact at Microsoft and they have expressed an interest in supporting an event like the one I have proposed.

The Council are interested in putting on the event so now what I am doing is writing a formal proposal to firm the idea up.

I just wanted to see if the forum users would like to have XBox there, as it would be an additional attraction for the public and something for the players to do in between their games.

As for dates, it needs to run on a date that doesn't clash with any other paintball event, so I will address that in my proposal.

I'll keep you posted, but in the meantime i'll be happy to answer any of your questions.
