I'm just a bit curious about protocol

If the thread is still active but a couple months old, and it hasn't been asked for the mods to delete it, and so you see something you might want and its not listed as sold, is it wrong to post on it?

I'm always searching old posts if I'm looking for something I need

Maybe I'm not clear about 'bumping'.

Why move it the graveyard and not just ask the mods to delete it?
