pc literate baller needed!

Got a problem i need help with, hope this is the right place mods, if not feel free to move delete.

I have a video file on pc (paintball related I assure), and it is now stored as a .mp4, BUT my pc for some reason is trying to open it with WinAmp, and whenit does this all i am getting is audio.

Can anyone help me out? ideally to get it to .AVI so i can at least watch the damn thing!

itunes or quicktime will play it.

also will play on ipod/iphone

vlc will play it, along with most things..... once installed , right click and click play with vlc

downloaded vlc aswell now, pretty good and you got to love the traffic cone icons

my question is, is there anything i can do so that i can burn this onto a dvd and play it in a normal player? or will it have to be viewed on a pc?

you will want something like nero for that, depending on it's compatibility (you might be able to find a free dvd burning software btw) it should be able to convert the file automatically to SVideo which most dvd players are able to play, or check your dvd player as it may support the format anyway, but thats unlikely.

Nah it is a tourny vid that i got sent from guy i know in the states, pretty dissapointing now that i watched it
