SP feedneck problem, anyone got any ideas

I have had an SPs feedneck on my gun for just over a year now, and when tightening my clamping feedneck onto my Empire reloader B last sunday the collar of the feedneck snapped in half. It wasnt over tightened or even changed at all since I had set it up for that hopper around two months ago. The hopper wasnt damaged at all. I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas as to source out some kind of replacement?

wear and tear probably, sp aluminum is known for being ****.

just look and mine and it has small cracks appearing at the base and will probably eventually do the same.

Yeah thats the reason lol, if ya look at the pictures its not even a clean snap, its all jagged and the metal itself doesnt look great, looks like a silver version of MDF

I will give warped a ring see what they can do, any other advice just post up

Id say the solutiuon is to buy a different feedneck.

The Qlock is awful anyway, it barely clamps.

Ive always liked the fireball mountain feednecks.

Personally Ive found the Qlock to be one of the most "grippy" feednecks Ive tried. Eclipse ones are the best Ive tried though.

Ive had that happen with a CCM feedneck, dont overtighten them.

basically, go to a bicycle store. Buy a clam/ allen key like seat post locky thingy. (that help the seat + the post stay still an dont move)

get the feedneck thats on the gun, hacksaw down the middle (both sides) until about half way, then file it down so its about 3-5mm wide each gap. whack on seat clamp.

hey presto..

its what i did to my ions one, an it works great.

cost 2 quid to do all that


not that im cheap :/

Personally Ive found the Qlock to be one of the most "grippy" feednecks Ive tried. Eclipse ones are the best Ive tried though.

Ive had that happen with a CCM feedneck, dont overtighten them.

You can make them grippy, especially if you use an alan key.
What I meant was, in comparison to several others ive used, the lever doesnt have much effect on how grippy it is.

The fireball mountain ones go from rock solid to completely loose using the lever.

The cam is designed really well, making it grip tighter and undo easier.
I guess you'd have to try one to know what im on about.
