One recent film I have seen:

Was well worth a trip to the cinema for Cloverfield - thought it was a brilliant, lovingly put together bit of film.

Did not really get into the viral marketing of it, and am not a fan of lost, but thought it was a refreshing, intense, cinematic experience, that demanded a little focus from the viewer, instead of being spoon fed every ingredient that makes up a lot of cr*p that comes out of hollywood.

Staying through the credits however untill the extra bit of audio, was pushing it.

One film I am looking forward to:

Its all about Indiana Jones

-----

"Since april 27th to be exact"

You sure that was what you think it was ;) Damn all these questions it raises!

since april 27th to be exact ;)
haha fair point dude!

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

Apparently JJ & Matt Reeves said it was a satellite dropping to earth but people are unsure whether this was to lead people off the scent. Theres speculation that it was infact a satellite that woke clovey from his/her deep sleep then theres others who speculate it is clovey themselves. Personally I'm with you ;) I tend to think its more extraterrestrial.

As for the audio... I thought it was just a part of the soundtrack. Heard about it a while ago from an american friend and they thought the same but their friends were saying you have to wait until the end for it etc...

I'm with satellite and corporate scandal
SPOILER AGAIN....

"The Japanese oil company TAGRUATO drops a satellite (Chimpanz III) into the ocean as part of viral marketing (shown at the end of the movie when Rob and Beth were on the ferris wheel). TAGRUATO works with SLUSHO (a slush company), as the main ingredient for SLUSHO is found at the satellite dropzone (deep ocean). While searching for satellite and ingredients, they woke Cloverfield (the monster).

The main ingredient of Slusho apparently turns a tiny fish into a HUGE whale, which explains the size of Cloverfield.

Rob apparently was going to be the Vice President of TAGRUATO in Japan."

This one ;-)

Oh and apparently (just read this myself) the message at the end is actually 'its still alive' when played backwards... so sequels are always a possibility although i hope they dont. Perhaps if they were going to do a sequel do it documentary style, unreleased footage etc...

SPOILER SPOLIER¬

Bingo, as apparently someone is wearing a SLUSHO t-shirt in the film (tho I failed to remember it).

And the idea of a fizzy drink company making a super badass monster is more original than aliens from outer space ;)

Yea the audio at the end is that, but my mate told me before, sat through the credits to hear it, then he said "oh by the way, its played backwards" - plonker

to be fair, it's not really a spoiler as it makes no difference to somebody who hasn't seen the movie.
you'd have to research it after watching the film as theres no way you'd see it when watching. Im still thinking its the creature though :)

what more can be expected from the creator of Lost though, the number of things you miss when just watching an episode of that is huge!

Just got back from watching cloverfield today, and i can honestly say that its one of the worst films i've ever seen,

Just kind of dragged on for hours of bordom, it didnt explain anything just this guy walking around New York searching for his love accompanied by a few people who obviously die.

When it came to the end, it just stopped suddenly, we all thought there would be a flash back to 6 months or something to say how the monster got here, but no.

Dont know what it was or where it came from, boring imo. In a good film, they have to raid a gun shop and steal at least 4 guns each. Preferably with a minigun,

Not a gun in sight in Cloverfield, except the marines who you dont really see much of,

Definatly not one for my dvd collection....
