Ok so this isn't the first time I've posted something like this I'll admit, but as my last project basically died I'll start again.
I'm looking into setting up a woods event that's a little different, and I want peoples input into the format. Any sensible suggestions are welcome, non sensible only if they make me laugh
My first thought, and my personal favourite (to date) is to make the event a mech-only event, no electros.
Obviously this presents problems for some, but there are still a lot of players with an automag, 'cocker or pump in their gear bags (Or in the wardrobe with the mothballs).
My reasons for this are
a) Bringing the speed down will change the game completely
b) It will save you paint, meaning money
c) Mechs are ace
My second idea is a little bit more basic, a Koth style event, in that the team has limited paint to use during the day. Possibly allow electros for this one, but limit ROF at 12bps or something like. Again this will save paint/money.
I intend to hold it at a site in Staffordshire (TBC), which is pretty much central for most people.
No idea about entry fee/prizes at this point, the first job is to get people interested.
As you may have guessed I'm not a huge fan of high bps, personally I don't believe it's needed to have a decent woods game, but that's just my opinion
This is on walkonzone as well
