I've been told they'll retail at about £45 and slightly more if you want micro gauges. They will be a bit heavier:rolleyes: and less trendy:rolleyes::rolleyes: but hey, safety first;) Plus the bits can be had in the UK, they are Pi marked and we all love pie, and they come with a filtered inlet as stock. They have plenty on the shelves and I take the view better to do this stuff before they force it on us as it makes for less grief in the long run.

As for the bottle not blowing, this is true, but it does seem the Stakos are the only ones doing this at the mo so is the weight saving worth it for players and those around them? I bought one, marvelled at its loveliness and used it right up until I saw the blown bottle that was being shown around at Campaign last year, when I binned it. It was a pain and a waste of money but having my balls sewn back on would probably run a bit more expensive and at the end of the day I can live with the few extra ounces on my setup in the interests of less exploding. It's a bit like those players that use incredibly hard paint in the interest of 'cutting through the undergrowth'; that's great and everything but they chose to use equipment that can make the game more painful or dangerous to other players who get no choice at all.

it probably is user error mate nobody quite understands the danger of filling a 1.1L bottle with 4500psi until something happens. This is why i will now take the steps to try and stop anyone getting injured on site. The Blast box is a must i think and also then the filling rate into the bottle needs to be lowererd. Also everyone needs to know that they must chech in side the fill nozzle and no matter what put any oil near it, it must be kept clean all the time.
I will have steele bottles to lend people that only have stackos to hand until the blast box is in place...

Direct from Mike and Mo, Freekz site owners:

Due to the recent events on Sun.27th Jan involving Nige. Freekz will be shut on Sunday 3rd February for training. Safety is of major concern and comes first and foremost.

The compressor and fill station are all new, all work has been carried out by professionals and all certificates for the fill station and quality of air are available. The fill station is being picked up and taken away for a complete examination which may help to find an explanation for the incident.

I would like to add to this that the fill station is and always has been safe and this has been insured by the professionals who carried out the work. Freekz has made the decision that from now on, anyone using the site will have to have their bottles filled for them. I understand this may be a nuisance for some and we are not assuming or suggesting that players are incompetent, only that the bottles can be filled slowly and safety by someone who knows what they are doing, and will hopefully lessen the chances of anything like this happening to anyone else in the future.

I would also reiterate that as Kitch has already mentioned, Stako bottles will now be banned from Freekz. It is far better to take as many precautions as possible than to ignore that there are problems.

We wish all our best to Nige again and will help with whatever we can.
Thank you.
Mike and Mo

i think you should be banning regs not the bottles
the reg will usually blow before the bottle as it is the weakest point, this is what happened at freekz and madrid (poss is budapest too?) the difference at madrid was when the reg blew the bottle hit the concrete causing the bottle to blow and throw shrapnal everywhere and cause the 10 foot high white flash. no reg ever built is going to withstand the emense pressure of the internal explosion of the tank, and even if it did it would be the bottle blowing into 100 bits. either way someones gonna get dead.

is it just coincidence that it is the stakos that are the ones igniting? i for one wont be taking a chance.

liking the bomb box idea, will slow things down but if it stops someone gettin thier head blown off im sure we can live with the extra 20 seconds wait

perhaps some sorta response from UK Masters about this problem would be a good idea. get a solid situation with regards to stackos (even tho the stacko isnt neccesserily to blame) im sure people dont want to be turning up in lincoln unable to play cause they only have 1 bottle (a stacko).
