I was thinking today, that most of the modern high end markers have been made redundant by their budget couterparts. With ROF being lowered in most tourney series and upgrades being released all the time, i asked myself is there really a need to spend any more than £400 -450 on a marker these days?

Some examples of brand new markers in that price bracket or lower

Etek 2
Shocker NXT
PM8
DP Fusion
DP Threshold
New Bob Long Protege

then on down to the budget markers ie Ion, pmr, Proto SLR etc etc. I personally wouldn't buy one of these, however i certainly would think very carefully about an etek 2 over an ego 8 for example.

What do the masses feel about it?

obviously there will always be the people who must have the shiniest newest thing, but is there really a need any more?

Can't see a 4 year old pmr or sgl bing in good nick though - so the second hand marker will also fall as before eclipse cockers - angels - ego would last many years.

So that means if you are looking for a sub £200 the only opition will be to buy new - thus making it worth while for the paintball compaines but not the paintball players :(

I think it's more to do with what people think about you..

Or I just buy guns because they look good, light, fancy, original, different.

I've had 4 or 5 guns in 6 months or playing,
