somehwhere near newark
right guys iv been shooting since i was about 8 (well seeing as my dad is a gunsmith)
clay shooting has never been to expensive but its finding a place which isnt a competitive shot! most of the clay shooting grounds around are competitive!
the best thing you can do is try get in contact with farmers in your area and see if anyone has any private shoots! where you can just go and have a play!

Yeah, lots people have trouble Shootin Me.

See...usually, its the simultaneous pair on stand 4 or low 6, that causes problems..and of course, stand 8 when you shoot Olympic styleee

Any Good to you?

http://www.moncktonshoot.co.uk/

"Monckton Shooting Ground is located 1 mile from High Hunsley junction on the B1230 and 1 mile outside North Newbald.

Approaching from York follow the A1034 and take road signed to North Newbald.

Approaching from West Yorkshire on the M62 take the last exit it is signed to North Cave.

Keep driving until you reach the A1034 turn left then first right onto the B1230.

Drive up the hill turning left at High Hunsley crossroads. Approaching from Hull follow the A63 and take the A1034 to South Cave.

Turn right onto the B1230 then turn left at the High Hunsley crossroads. "

Sounds Perfect!

You could also try Shooting Sports Magazine, or Clayshooting Magazine (been in that!)...but the former is easily available at WH SMiths.

Any questions you have, feel free to PM me your MSN and I will help where I can...if my help is wanted.

That is exactly the type of site you don't want...all those "Birthday" type groups will get that sort of bill....trust me, I used to teach at one.

But, they won't have a High Tower there, just for punters will they?

Call them...go along with some people who do shoot...blag it, whatever and you will probably get on one of their shoots, usually 50,60 or 100 birds for upto £20 plus cartridges etc or BYO.

It's just the same as the difference between being a punter and a walkon mate

That said, tuition is a good idea.

Hi James,

Like Pebble said i've just got into clay shooting recently, have my shotgun license and have just bought my first over and under. It's a great pastime and really enjoyable if you want a change from paintball.

I would definitely recommend taking lessons if you get more into it.

If you need any info feel free to PM me.
