the two sections of the reg that are supposed to unscrew are purely stuck and its through no weakness of mine.
What can i do to get the thing apart without scratching it to pieces.

Wrap the reg in a cloth and put it in a vice. Cloth the other end and use a spanner / mole grips.

Put the biggest eclipse allen key into the bottom (where the velocity adjuster is) and turn it.

Strap wrench will do it.(without scratching it)

yeah if the alan key thing doesnt work when i get home i'll try and grab a strap wrench... any idea of how much they usually are? ill try and pop down to B&Q and pick one up if they arent too pricey.

If you get one from B&Q make sure you get the bigger of the two.

I got the smaller on which only works for shootin up.

Trick for you to try.

Holding the top section of reg, tap the elbow on the lower section with a spanner or small hammer to loosen.

Learned this from Robert Pedroza of Planet, works a treat.

Its the shock that loosens the reg sections, just a couple of taps and you are sorted.
