I am new to the game of paintballing. now i know this might sound "newbish" but i dont get why top hoppers like halo b and vlocity and pulse claim that their hopper feeds a freefall rate of say 40 and a feedrate of 30, now can someone explain please.

Another question aswell is a pulse hopper good lol?

in all honesty it should matter as your gun should be capped at 15 bps so your hopper wont need to feed faster than that.

Free fall (off gun)has no resistance so therefore it is faster, the feedrate(on gun) has to keep the balls stacked tight for a more consistent stream of paint (and lower possibility of chopping)

Also, if things catch on, it wont be 15bps cap, it'll be 13.33 bps.

but why do they say that the feedrate is slower than the freefall rate, thats why we buy hoppers so they feed the ball into the marker.

i no it has to be capped but its is confusing my why the free fall rate is quicker than the feed rate????

I belive the reason for high feed rates is to do with reaction times. eg higher bps of hopper mean it can quicker fill the void left by you emptying the balls in the stack between motor and bolt than a hopper with a slower feed rate. allowing you to keep a constant 15bps 13.33333333333333333333, 12...whatever the ****.

course..just opinion
