Glad people with disabilities get the support to carry on playing the game.

Wonder if he has a whip to crack the ref pushing him, when doing a run/roll through.

BAD TO THE BONE
Fair play to them.

One of my best days marshalling was at Sidcup for Dougy Setters.
One guy turned up with arm crutch's and wanted to play. Dougy wasn't so sure but us marshals gave him our assurence that we'd look after him.

We spoke to the other team and told them that this player needed our assistance and that we'd put him into a bunker somewhere on the field that most teams would get to but he would only become active when we said so. We also asked the oppo's to show some common sense if they did shoot him as he would have difficulty getting off the field.

Of the the 10 games that day he played 7 and the only real help we gave him was carrying his gun for him to the field and back and a couple of times during games if the play had moved too far away from him for him to be active.

He had a great time and his mates were well chuffed that he'd got the chance to get involved.

I'm so so pleased to see this. Its made my day in fact. My Dad is disabled after falling from scaffolding 18 years ago and has often watched our games in the past and commented on how cool it would be to provide and offer exclusive facilities that aid young physically disabled people in playing the game which he has seen myself and my teammates grow up with.

Its a shame a government scheme couldnt be introduced to offer more young people with physical disabilities the chance to play.

i have seen something similar in a photo before. marshal had a massive sheild to cover the guy with if he got hit.

Credit to him. absolute credit to him, him the gentleman with the arm problems and the sl74 and anyone else with difficulties who plays this sport.
