attatch a reg to an air bottle

I recently baught an air bottle with a reg but the reg was not locktited(sp?) onto the bottle.

I want to locktite the reg to the bottle so that i feel more safe using it (worried it may unscrew whilst playing).

so
1.how do i go about cleaning the reg and bottle
2.how do i go about attaching the reg to the bottle safely and what type of adhesive should i use (locktite,threadlock tape ect.)

Not worried more being cautious don't really know too much about air bottle only how to fill ect.

you should look into whether loctite will cause the bottle to fail it's re test- usually i believe its just done up to a specified torque.

I've never thread locked a cylinder and i've never had one come undone when containing pressure, i think you're worrying over nothing.

DONT do it!!!
The "O"ring and pressure on the bottle is good enough to keep it secure.
If you are that worried about things going bang and big bad guns you could always as Cliff to teach you how to knit

you need the Tom Allen steel dis-combuberatoriemajig, it reocks!

also known as a steel bar with a matched thread to the fill nipple so adequate torque can be applied to the reg
