That's what you get when you don't control the de facto manufacturer of the regs. I'm 99.9% certain that these "fake" regs come from the same sweat shop in China as the ones that are GA branded.

According to them, they manufacture them 'in-house'; whether that means in the USA, or in their own factory, who knows...
