just thinking by heating and removing colour does it mean less protection for the metal and therefore RUST!!!

your lovely camel coloured metal may have orange flecks in it after one good downpour...

well never mind, the Masters is coming up... which usually means rain...so probably find out sooner than later....

Yay, rust...on Aluminium...hmmm, now I was usually in the pub for chem class but I think it's safe to say rust will not be an issue.

aluminium is a naturally brittle metal any way, thats one of the reasons why some people still use steel for making bicycle frames (bmx and dirt jump mtbs for example).
