Merry crimbo all...
Bought a gat off the forum a short while ago, XSV ego 6, (premature crimbo pressie) and only got my grubby mits on it yesterday.
I downloaded the manual from P.E as it did not come with the gat and found that this reading (see pic below)
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j222/edmunds1707/DSC00047.jpg

means that there is a fault in the eyes and the break beam sensor is disabled?
Went to change over the battery this evening in preparation for the coming weekend and noticed upon opening up the grip frame (for the first time) that a cable was not clipped in place.

After again consulting the manual (i'm no ego tech:eek:) it would seem that this is the eye wire. Naturally I plugged it back in and expected the 'U' symbol to dissapear and the 'broken circle' symbol (bbss is enabled but no ball is detected ) to appear. In actual fact plugging in the eye wire has changed nothing:(
I have yet to gas up the gat but going on previous owned markers, there is no need to test if the eyes are working.

Can anyone with any sort of ego teching experience put me out of my misery as I dont wanna turn up on sunday with my new toy and find its fecked. I'm hoping its me being a nobber and drinking beer whilst trying to use my brain!!
All help appreciated.

It looks like the disconnected wire is the 'noid harness.

Try cleaning the eyes like it details in the manual. Also try removing the eyes from the board and checking theres no ****e in connector and reattach.

Okay, Cleaned both eyes as per manual, also pulled out detents whilst I was there . Also disconnected both sets of clips from board and cleaned with cotton bud. I have re-connected back up
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j222/edmunds1707/DSC00048.jpg

and the lcd still shows the 'semi circle' bbss disabled symbol:confused::confused::confused:

I'm guessing i'm doing something real stupid as I bought this off a reputable trader on here and would be suprised if it was not sent in full working order.

Either way, i'm baffled (and a bit thirtsy:D gonna grab a beer).
If no-one else can help, what are the odds on planet looking at it/fixing it before the weekend??? slim to non I guess?

Update:

Had the grip frame off again after cleaning and setting to ramp 1 and I now have the () as opposed to [ . meaning that the eyes are working but no ball detected. Upon pulling trigger I cannot hear the noid at all due to no ball being sensed so I put my finger into feedneck and get the (*), when I then pull the trigger I can hear the noid working and ramping once I hit whatever BPS required.....BUT.....the LCD has now gone back to [, telling me there is a fault and the eyes are off and (according to manual) the gat will default to a max 10 bps with no eyes?

I'm thinking dodgy wires but not 100% sure???

Ego eye's act this way, if its on () mode, and it sense's a error, it limits the marker to 10bps and the eyes will read ]. If you press the upper button, it will turn the eyes off, and you will have maxbps again.

it sounds like all's ok. :)

Was the bolt forward when you where turning it on?

Quite possibly:eek:

The noid is cycling, the eyes are picking up my fingers:cool: so I guess there cant be too much wrong, just dont fancy playing with a new gat and having to turn the eyes off.

Cheers for your help so far chaps..... time for more beer:)

Merry crimbo 'n' an even merrier new year:D
