Any aerial specialists?

Purchased an internal amplified aerial to pick up freeview from Robert Dyas for £9.99

The max gain on it is 20db at which point I get a picture that looses sound and goes patchy quite often

Can anyone reccomend a good internal aeriel do do the job?

Hi DS, you can forget it with an inside aerial, you're just boosting a noisy signal. Pop outside and have a look at the aerials on the roofs, check which way they're pointing, and if you can get the same direction out of a window use the indoor aerial outside the window. The other option is to pop into a tv shop and buy a 10 element or 14 element aerial for your area and a cranked arm. Screw this to your window frame and connect up, you'll get three to four times the signal than the set top.
Look up aerial fitters on google for your area and you should get a supplier for the aerials.

I think you'll find there's a free upgrade somwhere. From a 10 ele to 14. Either a, b, c or d.

I've got an old aerial in my loft(suposed to be outside) and it's been up there for years;I bought a set top box for the bedding chamber and thought I'd try it out b4 splashing out on a new one..the picture is crystal clear even though the box displays signal strength @ only 50 %I've got Sky too b4 anybody calls me scrooge...
P.s it's mounted via a set of bmx handle bars and it's got no Angel,Ego or any other paintyball marker parts of any persuasion ......peacey type christmas wishes to all.
