am i right in assuming that a CP reg will just screw into place on an o5 ego?

and if so is this a decent idea considering my regs not great, or are there better aftermarket regs available/anywhere to buy the star reg?

cheers sam

How old is the reg/marker?

You cannot say, "i think my reg is poopered because I tried a DM and that was way more consistent"...it's a different marker:D

Inconsistency, if it is your reg can be caused by the o-rings, if they are worn...or, the Reg piston seal. The piston seal, is the black bit on the end of the stem of the piston and cant be changed.
Get a Piston kit from Planet, change the pistons in your LPR and HPR and all the o-rings and try that.
It can also be the valve seat, which is what the valve slides in and out of...if its worn...it will cause inconsistency.
