Had the same problem with my old PMR a while back. Knowone could get it off. Used a strap wrench and it came off.

had the same problem with an ion reg a while back - came free with brute force. wasn't cross threaded, there seemed to be no real reason for it other than some cnut overtightening the fecker in the fisrt place.

have you tried using some sort of lever to aid you.

ie take the internals out of the body whack something in there (non-metallic) hold the reg and twist away

take the FRM off, then stick that in a vice
