Don't believe a word of it. Crude oil is basically caused by the weight of water on dead fish and plants. And it doesn't matter how much we havn't found, we have used a serious amount of what we have, and we are using it faster than we find it.

"However, oil production from oil sands is currently severely limited. Consumption is currently around 84 million barrels per day, or 3.6 km³ per year. Because of reservoir engineering difficulties, recoverable oil reserves are significantly less than total oil-in-place. At current consumption levels, and assuming that oil will be consumed only from reservoirs, known reserves would be gone around 2039, potentially leading to a global energy crisis. However, this ignores any new discoveries, rapidly increasing consumption in China, India, and other developing nations; using oil sands, using synthetic petroleum, and other factors which may extend or reduce this estimate."
Reads like a quote straight from Greenpeace! Besides when I was a kid they said we'd be out by the Time I hit thirty, I'm thirty now and apparently I'll be ok till I'm about 80!

All we need to do, is boycott one fuel companty.

I believe Esso was a popular choice.

Idea being, if nobody buys their fuel, they will have to lower the price, and therefore when they do, everyone will buy their fuel, so BP, Texaco etc will all have to lower their prices.

You cant Boycott something that you need, in it's entirety, but you can Boycott a source.

I got a email about this from my cousin in Canada they sent the email around. Told every one to avoid a company called Irving and they done it within 2 weeks they lowed the fuel by 12cents !!!!!!!!! It may not be alot but it something.

Plus if they stop all the motor sports they will save fuel that way as well because that is a waste and give every one 1 litre cars.

I don't think banning Motor Sport will make a difference at all, while I have no figures to in anyway back this up I'd be surprised if the entire fuel used worldwide per year in motor sport came close to what is sold at the pumps per day in the UK.

On your train of thought we could ban any paintball marker capable of over 3-4bps. The fuel saved on having to transport paintballs round the world would be huge. Or ban tournaments, then no-one needs to use fuel to drive to them. :p

I was just trying to make the point that banning motor sport will have little to no effect on worldwide fuel usage. Now, if you stay at home then everything you need would have to be delivered to your house (as you no longer walk to the shops) which is going to result in a huge increase in fuel usage.

It is a tricky one, A good starting point would, in my opinion, involve reinstating a lot of the train lines lost in the Beeching cuts and shifting freight by rail. As a bonus this would make Public transport a more viable option. Half the reason I drive is because public transport in my area is so shockingly bad.

Yes that is a good point !

But how about if they ban cars and we all have peddle cars. But i do think with the amount of fuel used in f1 for example in one day is a waste and could be saved for other things. Then you have rally diving, bikes and all the others there is alot of fuel used wich is not really needed to be used. But i can not see the point in these people as well buying big 4x4 and 4.2 litre cars and trucks stupid i think. It is just a status simbol.
