Okay guys, simple one really. Forget the figures, forget the numbers. In real terms is there any difference? Advice from people that have shot both please.

Etek Vs Ego 07

Trigger is far nicer on the Ego7 Easier to walk and a better shape.
The ego7 feels alot more solid. A weird statement but its much nice.

I prefer the SL66 OOPS but the 07 is pretty damn good.
The shot is alot different and with the zick there is a small but noticable difference.
The ego7 is basicaly an fully upgraded marker as stock, its very nice and if you try both you WILL notice the difference. Bet bet is to try both but if you comfortably have the cash the 07 is well worth the extra £130 - £180 ish quid.

never used it once setup - tried the lucky board in the 06 ego and the leds drove me nuts after the lcd display....went back to the stock board.
much prefer the readout from an lcd - makes things more idiot proof which is perfect for me!!

The money between any two guns, when trying to decide, should go to actually playing paintball. The ETek and 07 both shoot well and are reliable.
I'd rather play 5 - 7 extra times, than have an LCD screen and other un-needed technology.

pretty simply it comes down to the little things
the etek was released to be the economical version of the 06
therefor we can assume the Etek2 is the same for the EGO08
what you will get is everything to make it the perfect marker with out the pleasantrys.
i.e grips wont be the same. led lights. probably a little less air efficent due to it not having the same internals
take it to the planet tech stall at a millenium, ask them to set it up the best they can. it will shoot 15bps and will give you more credability then having an ion and saying "it was cheaper and is as good as any other tourny marker"

I got the Etek because efficiency isn't a deal-breaker for me, I get plenty of time to refill when needed and I think the Etek is still quite efficient, even if it's not as good on air as the Ego.
I've never had an LCD, so LEDs are fine for me. You only need to learn what the flashes and colours mean once and then it's no problem.
It shoots ropes and has never let me down..... plus I have the difference in cash to spend on games, paint, cheap European hookers, farmyard animals etc :-o
On the flip-side, I'm sure ALL Etek owners would much rather have an Ego 08 if they had the cash (cos they're soooooo nice), so it's an affordability thing really. But for the cash, the Etek is a fooookin bargain in my eyes.
