Hmm, personally I've never seen the point of upgrading the board on the ion - with respect to the fields I play on they usually only allow semi mode and with recharge set to the lowest setting on the stock board, it will throw paint out faster than most people's fingers will move anyway (approx 17bps I believe).
On my ion, I considered a trigger upgrade to be essential, mainly because the standard one feels like it's held on with a paperclip (LOL), lots of sideways movement. I got the Redz flat trigger and my god what a difference, feels like a new gun.
Barrell deffo needs swapping out, stock one licks balls.
On/off ASA definitely too, the standard "duck-bill" that I had on mine (once) used to grip the bottle so hard, I almost unscrewed the reg from the bottle when I took it off after play. The Planet Eclipse ASA is pretty good.
Locking feedneck is handy as I've never known anyone be able to fit a hopper to the standard one without some "grinding"
After that, I'd say it's all down to personal preference. Some say that a new bolt is a good idea because of kick, but I've never felt any real kick anyway (upgraded my bolt still, cos I'm a nob who wastes money, LOL).
Aye lad, that I did.... haven't looked back since.then you bought an etek smart man
