Any specific reason why I shouldn't stick a preset regulator in a basin of water to see where the leak is coming from ...assuming im happy too strip it and dry/lube and rebuild it afterwards...It's a Myth reg on a Stako at about 3000psi and counting (down).

None that I can think of. I do it with bike tyres all the time ;) But seriously, it shouldn't be a prob. Or you could cover it in washing up liquid which also works.

was reading a thread otherday on here or nation:mad:, many were saying they stuck there stako(+others) in a bath of water to check for leaks, air pressure will stop water going in anywere,remove dry and away u go,not much diff from your bottle reg sliding through deep puddle or heavy rain

edit no replys when i started typing, eiither i type slow or it takes me along time to go to the loo

Yeh I asumed due to hp it would be fine ...but it still sounded like a ticket to The Darwin Awards for some reason...
