Yesterday I went to Screw Fix to buy some Loctite PTFE paste that I am reliably informed is great for grub screws and air fittings. Got there and it was only available online
In desperation I purchased some 'No Nonsense Threadlock.' Bugger all description in the catalogue and even less on the packaging when it arrived at the counter.
Wary of the fact that it may cement every grub screw in place I tested it over a couple of hours on an old grip frame screw. The screw came out with ease so I used the stuff where required this morning.
Still at least 2 leaks from grub screws so if you are ever desperate DO NOT BUY SCREW FIX KNOCK OFF LOCTITE
Tonight we have round two of the the 'In Desperation Loctite Review.'
Z-42 Thread Locker by Pacer Tecnology. (Picked up from the local model shop.)
"Medium Strength. Seals metal parts against vibration. Parts can later be seperated using hand tools."
I am hoping this does a better job. Results to follow.
I am honestly shocked that you cannot find a high street shop with even one type of Loctite without buying online.
