I have a few questions about Quad-bike's. Its paintball related as one of the uses I need it for is for transporting sup-air bunkers and other items to and from our training field.

I have tried googleing it but all the site I found were just for buying/selling/renting quads. If anyone knows any good sites for information on them that would be really appreciated.

I need to know how old you have to be to have a Road legal quad.
What type of liscense you need for one.
What make of quads are best.
If it is ok to buy 2nd hand and how much would be saved.
If a trailer could be fitted that is big enough to carry paintball gear.

Any other advice and links would be very appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt.

well you'll be wanting a workshorse, not one of these cheepo imports than only cost £200 and come in a box, you'll probo be wanting a tow hook too.

license wise, i think it use's a full bike license/ full car license.

and yes, even a 250cc quad will pull all the gear you could think off.

my dads mate who he got quads and bikes off for his shop in his garage said the people who get them off the docks pay £2.50 or summats ridiculas and then sell them of for 250

ow and i beleive it comes under car type insurance or they will do insurance by engine size which is kinda like a bike. i am nearly 70% sure its a car liecence but your best off asking a insurance company or even a shop that seels quads or even motorbikes as they would now possibly

I own a quad so.. here goes:

I got a Linhai 260cc (made in china ftw) and it is a BEAST. It will take a trailer and carry a ton of stuff easily but keep in mind that you'll need street tyres, dirt ones are way too slippery for the road, especially if you want to carry stuff. They don't go fast (at least the ones made for off-road) but they're strong and need very little ammounts of gas.

Over here you need a full car license and must be 18, don't know about the UK. The best make is probably Polaris but they are soooo expensive, get a chinese one. DONT go for 50cc, they just wont work.

You dont save a lot when you buy second hand.. but that really depends on your budget!
