The story seems to keep changing with them, though I think the one that went POP had oil in the fill nipple or something along those lines.

You are supposed to fill them very slowly and if you follow the recommendations they are no more dangerous or likely to blow up than any other type of bottle.
Just don't do anything stupid with them and you will be finecheers guys ,now i will be able to sleep tonight
Do NOT:
- Use them as hammers to fix that dodgy fence
- Store them fully filled on top of the house boiler
- Use them as lightsabers in a dual with your mates
- Support your car with them after you have jacked it up
- Attempt to wash it in the washing machine after a bad days play

You should fill ALL cylinders slowly...it's just polite.
Flash filling, is like going in "dry" and without consent, on your Mrs...Really Stupid.
Only thing I recommend with Stako's, is to dump it in water, with a good amount of air in and look for a continuous stream of bubbles.
