(russ get some non bouncy paint mate you would think you were all shooting re-balls lol).
Best game of the day for me (have to be honest i was a spectator) Moppys teabags vs manc lions .... Dan you really are my hero!!! He hung the flag with near no time left and 2 players still alive on the field (hiding behind the hut on the small arena). Absolutely superb play and commitment for the team! This really was probs the best woodland game i have ever seen!!!
Hope to see you all at the next event
We had a nightmare with paint and some gun issues, we changed paint three times during the day as we could not get any to work.
We ended up using site paint but when we first got it we realised Chris had stored it wrong! he had treated it like his other paint a kept it in his heated room but we find site paint has be kept cold for it to become fragile.
The Tea bags game was the one we was looking forward to all day, a good bunch of lads who will also take the game to you given the chance.
I gave them the choice of ends and went to our base.
I knew from the end they had more or less how they would play the game and knew we had to soak up some paint and also knowing the state of the paint we was using I told my guys to pick fire fights carefully.
I was supporting Colin on our left and also checking out the right side and telling my guys where their targets were!
It was getting interesting and although I was never worried about being shot out I was getting rather annoyed with the team as I knew the Teabags was giving us to many opportunities to shoot them and we was not taking advantage offered.
My own shooting was also leaving a sour taste in my mouth as I could see targets clearly and was not getting any kills.
We had lost two players but still in a strong position I thought, next minute one of there players did a cool move and came straight threw the centre in mine and Marshy's blind spot and hung the flag.............
At first I thought time had run out and wanted to find out why we had not shot anyone, I know we are not bad shots and we had used loads of paint(well we had by our standards)
I then found out Colin had shot the flag carrier several times from a pretty close range and every one had bounced!
Marshy had shot him on his foot from a very close range - and it bounced...
We found out we had shot every one of them including goggle shots multiple times and not a single ball burst..........
As much as we believe we should have won because at least the three of us who were live at the end never got shot during the game, praise has to go to the Teabags as they kept coming forward to get us and in doing so secured a deserved victory.
Then we had the dinner time break and I opened all the boxes of paint so they would lose all their heat.
After dinner we only had three games with the paint cold and brittle.
We lost ONE player in those three games and we maxed them all in a couple of minutes each.
Dam Paint
The event was as expected and was very enjoyable, the best part for me was having the opportunity to watch one of the younger players who I will be telling a few people I know about because at his age he should not be that good but since he is he must be put in a place to increase his skill level and not allowed to become stagnant or bored.
