Hey lump, I love paintball. I love to hear peoples thoughts and opinions about it, and I have always respected what Robbo has to say. It's my pleasure to share the company of intelligent opinionated people. So again Robbo, I'm ready....hit me with it. :)
Welcome aboard Brandon......you have discerning tastes :)

Anyways, sorry guys, I been kinda busy lately after getting back from World Cup but here goes.
Hmmmm, ok, well I can’t give too much away coz I don’t really wanna pre-empt my next PGi article too much but I will say the following:- I don’t think there is much chance of integration, in fact, little to none.
If a miracle happens, then maybe, just maybe.
As for this turnaround in events?
Well, it has many factors not least of which are the efforts of Lane Wright, Keely Watson and Scott the Smart Parts guy who took over financial management of the league.
Coupled with that stabilising of management we had the two PSP big guns (Smart Parts and Dye) somehow defaulting toward a new working relationship that wasn’t underwritten by too many negatives shall we say.
This change in heart by one of the parties allowed a much more constructive and positive environment for running a league instead of the league being just another theatre for confrontation and suspicion.

Basically, the PSP board have, more by default I think than design, stumbled into the very area of management they have always needed to inhabit, that of positive and constructive co-operation between themselves.
Previously, they were less than harmonious …and that may well be the understatement of the year.

As a background to all this, there was much talk re integration going into world cup, everybody knew I had been talking to Bruce Friedman and Dave YB re the subject and this situation I think worked against the whole idea of integration because once the PSP guys got together and sorta realised just how much hard work and commitment they had put in, let alone the money, then a new consolidating resolve was born at this event, and it truly was born at this event.

The PSP’s rhetoric now shifted amazingly away from worrying about finances toward questioning why on earth they needed integration in the first place, as one of the PSP guys told me, ‘Pete, why do we need anybody, we got more teams than anyone, the best format and now we make money’.

He had a point, and it was a point that was to become the bedrock response on being asked about integration.
I was around these guys as all this unfolded and I gotta say, it surprised the hell outa me because what we had here, was the final and much needed maturing of attitudes from within the PSP.
The bottom line here is, they got themselves to a point whereby they can constructively work together instead of what used to happen before.
As for the future of paintball?
Well, I have got my own ideas now which I will write about in PGi but 08 is gonna be interesting for sure, I just hope it’s for the right reasons.

Peace out !

And as for the finals game between Legion and Ironmen, fackin 'ell, talk about having the hairs on the back of yer neck stand up as that game unfolded ....bejeeepers, one of the best finals games I have ever seen.
Anyways, I am gonna go back to bed to try and get some kip, I'm knackered ....

I think that was the longest one on one I have seen in quite some time.

I also think that it was sort of funny when Pete U thought the field was clear and was cheering on the crowd then got shot.

Robbo could you also use this photo is your article.

I think Oliver would appreciate it to compliment his win.
