Questions for the EGO experts out there...

Right, I've been playing long enough to justify hanging up the ion and getting a better marker.....

I play regularly at NQ and definitely feel that I should support the local trade and get an Ego/ETEK.

Got a few questions though...

With my budget at the moment, I was looking at a second hand Ego 05 but I wanted to know what the main differences are between the 05 and the 06? Is it worth spending the extra for an 06?

Also, I don't get the whole ETEK Ego thing, all the ETEKs I've seen seem to be based on the Ego 06, is that right? What's the difference between the ETEK and the Ego range ?

primarily the 05 and 06 are the same - differences primarily the body milling and the postion of the optical trigger sensor.

the etek is a whole different beast. essentially it is a stripped down ego - keeping all the fancy gizmos like qevs - out to reduce the cost. being based on the ego platform still leaves you a monster of a gat with all the characteristcs you'd expect, easy maintainance and cheaper cost.

some folk will even say they prefer the eteks over the 05/06.

if you go to NQ regulary, im sure the guys at NQ will talk you thru all the differences of the eclipse range of markers, im sure they will let you try all of them, just ask....then you will see/know first hand

If your at the tourny on the 17th then I'm sure you will see most of the Ego range in person, last time i was there there was almost every single model of ego there including a sexy mantis

Yeah I've had a go of the Mantis, very nice.... in fact I've seen everyone's Egos a few times but wasn't after one at the time so didn't pay much attention, LOL. I'm sure Sean's VERY happy with his new Mantis of doom! Hehehe
