Hi all.

A little help needed please. I purchased a lucky Stage 2 firing can from here along with a firebolt.

I have just taken my Ion to bits a for a bit of a clean and to fit my new bolt and can. I was wondering about the back of the stock can. I assume i need to take the back bit off and fit it to the lucky one. It has a split pin type thing holding it on, and i dont want to try and get it off if i dont need to.

If i do need to move the rear section of the stock can, whats the best way of doing it? And has anyone got any tips?

I suppose in short, im asking how to fit the new can lol

Thanks in advance guys!

If you only have the stage 2 from lucky (no doughnut on the other end), then you will need to remove the doughnut from your old firing can and put it on to your new stage 2.

You are correct in assuming that you will need to remove the C clip that holds this one on and you will need to get some c clip pliers to do this (basicly so you can open it up and then close it back again with out buggering up the c clip)

Its easy to do once you have opened up the c clip enough to be able to lift it off, pull off the doughnut and stick it on the stage 2 the same way you pulled it off, then put the c clip back over the stage 2 in the same place you removed it from the original fire can and close the clip back up.

Job done.

Thanks very much mate.

Now i just wished i had c-clip pliers lol, right time to tap up the neighbers!
If your absolutey stuck drop me a pm. I have some, and we can meet breifly possibily on Thursday around lunchtime to get your back donut swapped onto your stage 2. I have to go to woking and will probably M25 it on the way back.

If you want some of your own, I bought my pair from a random parts car place for a £5. Should be one in Watford somewhere?
