edit: so now its packed up completaly, tried loads of diff duracell batteries and the thing wont turn on, wires arnet pinched or anything, anyone got any ideas?

Could be the little clip inside which catches on the other bit underneath (bit which connects to the motor, Forget the name)
Take the screw out the middle of the drivecone and remove it pulling it upwards, may have to wiggle it a bit, Look underneath, There should be a little bit of plastic about 5mm sticking out. If there isnt, buy a new drivecone or if you can be bothered, try putting a screw of somthing similar were it was

nah that bit is there mate, i think its just where the drivecone spins then gets infront of that small clip, which has to then like catch the spring up
If might not be assembled right, if it doesn't have a lot of tension you might have got the tab the wrong side of the one on the catch cup. You need to cross the two arms on the spring over the bottom tab so there's enough tension.
sorted it now mate, i think i put the board conector on the wrong way round im dumb ino
