Now this is where the vast majority of paintballers have been mislead then. We thought that sp were enforcing a patent that would give them cotrol of certain parts of every electronic paintball marker. WDP challenged this and won, I must have misread this somewhere.
I ain't the 'vast' majority of paintballers Tom....

You can say that again... hahaha

This is all getting stupid, it's not that deep rooted to be a lets fcuk the euro team/teams. If that game would of gone down with to US teams like it did for Joy the ref would of said the same thing about the flag. All it is is bad reffing and bad running of the refs. Now we all talk about bad reffing but they do good calls too!

The best reffing is 100% NXL and that's what the NPPL need to do. Get pro refs... It will cost more but it needs to be done.

Joy have made the right call to pull out after SD but not just for reffing/bad running of events because it will cost a team like Joy 20k to 25k USD to go to the events in the US and that's just mad money when they have the Millennium to play as well.

But you never know after SD you might see Joy still keeping with the NPPL or you might see the leagues come together for 08.

Who knows but I'll bet they will be some meetings going down soon!

Mr. Stewart has been talking to people DIRECTLY involved in this incident and who were witnesses to it. I can’t understand why there are five pages on this subject, when the facts and the rules are crystal clear. Before any game starts, it is down to the marshals to make sure the barricades and surrounding area, is cleaned after games, (cos they wouldn’t want to make any bad calls, ha ha) and that there are arm bands at either end and the flags are in the correct visible position. All this should be done before each game (if I have missed any minor details, sorry). So this is the story - Joy eliminates all the opposition, goes down to get the flag, from where is should be, but its not there. There are several possibilities as to why; (1) It may have been moved so that the barrel doesn’t get caught on it at the start of play, (2) It may have been shot off during the game, or (3) Someone may have forgotten to put them in place before the game started, but nevertheless the flag must be made visible to the players. The Joy player asked the marshal ‘where’s the flag,’ the marshal shrugged his shoulders, (is this how you should be marshalled?) Although the flag was ‘apparently’ in the start gate area it was not clearly visible or accessable to the Joy player, meanwhile time is ticking on, so the Joy player touched the start gate with a pot (in the place where the flag should have been) then ran back and was about 2 feet from touching it when the time ran out. At one stage they wasn’t going to be awarded the flag grab. It could be bias or just plain and simple bad marshalling, but either way very unlucky.

What will never happen? The leagues come together for 08.

Well the idea is being talked about with more credibility than ever before, and this time around, even people involved in the leagues seem to believe it might be going to happen. If not 08 I would like to think 09...

Its not just the teams that 2 leagues is hard to afford, its hard for the big manufacturer as well. Now is the best ever time for it to come together for all.

NPPL picks the best evnues and promotes paintball better and the PSP has the better format and better run reffing program.

But at the end of the day we are talking about some big names in paintball working together and thats going to be the hard part.

There are very few that know the details of the SP/WDP arrangement, and those people are legally prohibited from telling anyone. Thats the reason no-one knows, that and bacause it's none of thier business.

There is no Bias against Joy, take this from someone who watches every game they play in the NPPL. They have just had terrible/incompetent calls. Other teams get those too, but they always hit Joy when they are right on the bubble, because thats where they generally are. The other teams don't get screwed as much because most of them are already out. A bad call when you are already out is easier to deal with than one that stops making final 4.

As far as 'if you build it they will come'; tell that to Brass Eagle after they spent Millions constructing the legitimately Awesome 'Challenge Park'....
...however there is some promise in: 'if you built it, they will come, so long as it's cheap, and it doesn't take long to get to, and I get sponsored, and my Mom is off work so she can drive me up there'.
