Hi all, my name is Dave and I have just moved to the Reading area after leaving the army. Until recently my passion has always been Rugby but getting my faced smashed in every weekend is starting to get boring and I have decided that it is time to get myself as new sport.

I used to play paintball for a novice team near Preston when I was 11 – 13. Mainly woodland stuff with a few tournaments and all just for fun. Unfortunately, at that age, the rising cost of the sport forced me out and I never really got the chance to pursue it properly. At the age of 28 the situation has changed and I can afford to pursue the sport competitively. I realise that the sport has changed significantly since I last played; not only in terms of the equipment (I was playing with Mini-Mags and Autocockers) but also in terms of the actual games themselves.

The bottom line is that I want to try and get back into the sport via a local team but am unsure of how to take things forward. I’m looking to join a committed local Sup’ Air team who are seeking novices/beginners for trials/training with a view to competing competitively in the NSPL.

I have not yet purchased any kit but will be looking to splash out when I find the right team; cost is not really an issue. I am more than happy to attend regular training sessions and don’t mind traveling. Like I said, ultimately I am looking to join a serious and committed team with a view to competing in the NSPL.

I would seriously appreciate a steer from anyone with information. Please feel free to email me or call me on 07766026977

Shame you didnt post this a month ago as had NSPL and KOTH in Reading (by the lands end pub if you know Woodley/Hurst).

Would suggest looking at either NSPL or KOTH unfortuantly next event is a huge trek hence why my boys wont be playing it, the one after that is the Dartford leg which is closer so prob worth looking into.

Would suggest my team but you will hate us, we never train and just turn up to tournies for a giggle, some times we win some times we lose but just have fun.

Get on http://www.southwestpaintball.co.uk/forums/index.php as will have other local teams which are more commited.

Thanks for the steer. I'll follow the link and see who's about. Maybe see you at a tournie sometime.
