wow, controversial weekend. Joy were cheated out of a place in the semi-finals. As for the ironmen impact decision, its a mixed blessing, with regards to points and money and the teams overall, its a good decision. From a spectators point of view, bitterly disappointing.

Wow - can't recall anything in the rules allowing that. Be interesting to see what it does to the series standings ...
Would this qualify as game fixing? NPPL rule 23.07:

A team will be disqualified from an NPPL Super 7 World Series tournament and will forfeit all points from the tournament to respective opposing teams for the following Rules violations:

(2) Game Fixing. Two opposing teams conspiring to fix the outcome of any game.

What a bunch of crap. I would have felt cheated if I had paid any money to watch the games. IMHO, they didn't share 1st, they shared 2nd .I guess both teams felt relieved not losing, but I bet they both didn't feel like winners either.

Perhaps there was too much personal pride to lose in those 1-on-1s

Do the players now make the rules ?

Shawn Walker kept telling us via the web cast about how it goes to the best of 3 1 on 1s if the games are drawn.
What next ? Head shots don't count ?

To be honest, i would have loved to see it go to one on ones, but it was the players that decided the outcome not the NPPL, i think thats what all the discussion was before they announced they were sharing it. Like someone said its down to money aswell, either a $25000 pay day or $10000, or they could guarentee $17500.

The fall out from this one is going to be interesting ... the NPPL have in one foul swoop destroyed a lot of the good work they've done this year.

From a series perspective will Dynasty or other teams call foul and challenge the decision afterwards?

What about the Joy incident with the 'lack of flag'. How the hell did that happen (if what I understand happened actually happened) and why was it not challenged (thereby putting Joy into the finals?) - Can't wait to see Maqued's post on that one ;)

Won't be the money ... will be something to do with the series.
