What pissses you off in paintball

I did sit here for ages writing a few things down, but I would rather save the big rants for the people involved and say to their faces. I think some people probably seen me exchanging a few words on ref matters at leg 7 (Reading) and I stand by what I said 100%. My team are always the first to thank the marshalls after every game, win or lose, but when you are cheated out of a decent game because the marshalls are to idle to get in and check players, pull them out, make a decision, whatever it really pisses me off. Dont stand right back against the netting scared to move, because if that was the way to ref then anyone can do it from outside the netting. Oh and if you are a spectator, SHUT UP!!!! You dont make the calls so stop trying to bully refs into changing a decision!!!
It also annoys me when you pay to play 8 games and dont get them because teams dont turn up. What is wrong with re-drawing the division in the morning to compensate and give us our value for money?
AND...... Standing around for HOURS on end waiting to play because there is better profit potential for having 20ish 5 man teams in div4! I dont want to be getting home at 10-30pm because the day has dragged on because of this!
I wish there were more options open to ballers, but unfortunately we cant always be happy!

Blatant (sp?) cheating ... makes me wonder why I help provide money for refs.

Dry Firing all the time at tournaments.

People fiddling with guns when theres nothing wrong with them.

Waiting what feels like an eternity to play a game.

People who fill paint from the box (its all about the oil).

Goggles that have foam lining that wears on your face to leave a black mark. (Not so bad just an annoyance).

Being shot ... it sucks everyone knows it.

People asking you 'Do you play paintball?' ... I think many a site ref will understand this.

I think I might have some more but to be honest im in a happy place at the moment so I wont go on.

Good job you werent at the last leg mate. I had a few choice words with some refs, well i use the term refs loosely as there more alike with retards.

The NSPL have by far the worse marshalls in the Uk, which is a shame as i like the tournament and have always got alone with syd

I heard about it mate, from a lot of people who, some are saying one thing to me one minute then running up to Syd and kissing his ass! My phone was ringing all day, and why some people thought I would want to know is beyond me. After all I was only interested how you guys and a few friends were getting on. Dont get me wrong, I do respect Syd for what he does for the league but please get some of those idiots off the field. The reffing at round 7 was bad enough and when I brought the point up I was told that some of the refs had been on field for 50 games. They had no idea when they got there in the morning and as the day went on they got worse! Just cause they stood on field with their hands in their pockets playing with their balls doesnt make them EXPERIENCED! The thing is with SOME NSPL marshalls is they think they are better than what they are. Personally I would rather they stayed at home with their box of kleenex.
Have you noticed as well that when you have "some choice words" you get penalised in the next game on that field?
Either be impartial or dont put on a ref shirt as the way the NSPL is going, it is seriously making me think about retirement, after all I am old enough

Ps. the reason I stayed in the NSPL was to support my local league, cant really stay away for weekends with the family and I stayed to rep PLANET in the South West like I used to years ago with West Coast. Now I wonder why I stay as I can rep PLANET anywhere.

I have only been to NSPL once, but i have to admit, i personally feel the majority of the marshalling was poor. Dont get me wrong i do love NSPL (even if i have been once), but some of the refs need some work.

Anyway... what annoys me is when you make sure your gun and loader and everything else is functioning fine. Even at the start gate its all good, then suddenly something screws up at the beginning or some time in the game. That really pisses me off.

Oh and trying to explain to people that paintball IS a sport

Anyway... what annoys me is when you make sure your gun and loader and everything else is functioning fine. Even at the start gate its all good, then suddenly something screws up at the beginning or some time in the game. That really pisses me off.

Get a decent gun and loader or if its decent then leave it alone and dont mess with it


Oh it also gets on my tits when the chrono ref feels it necessary to empy your loader checking for bounce!!!

Wouldn't be an issue if people knew how to set up there guns and didn't try and bring full auto/PSP/3 shot burst modes onto the field.

If these checks weren't done properly then it would only mean people complain about cheating guns etc.

When I used to marshall, the chrono ref knew about guns. If they didnt then they were not chrono judges. You dont need to shoot off a whole loader to do these checks properly. If cheating guns were the issue then we would be back to checking EVERY gun not just 2. I have had it many times when the captain and one other was checked for every game ALL day.

That is the primary reason why i don't play tourneys anymore, I can't afford the time/money to travel to other tourney series, so i decided not to bother.

The marshalls seem to have this god complex that far exceeds their actual ability to do the job.

Ah well...it's fun just training/scrimmaging and playing rec, i also feel like i get value for money playing now.

I mean, we are customers after all....
