I was in a very similar boat to you (hell, I even have an 05 Angel, but it's being repaired and modded by Gurkha, a guy who works at NPF. (long story, somewhere in an old thread )
Anywya, they have a decent walk-on tourney style day normally on 2nd Sundays, unless Master's is on which affects numbers. There are at least 3 recruiting teams around at the moment that I know of. Just show up, play well, don't be a prick and respect the other guys (and gals).
