The MagnaDrive Technology

Rare earth technology is the most recent addition to the family of high performance permanent magnets and became commercially available in the 1980's. NdFeB magnets have the highest energy product of all permanent magnets, permitting the small size and high torque transmission capability of MagnaDrive products. NdFeB magnets retain their performance in environments up to 350 Deg. F., and have a half-life of over 2,000 years.

So Magna wotsits aside, they've basically taken a Halo, kept the top shape and relocated the battery pack from front to rear?

Does it offer any worthwhile improvements aside from a bucketload of hype? I'm interested if it's lighter, easier to strip or has a higher capacity than a Halo, however the speed it can feed seems a bit irrelevant when every top end loader can already consistently feed the 15bps we're capped at.

At the moment a Halo/Reloader with Suicide/Cranium shells and a decent rechargable pack seems to offer everything a player needs.

By the looks of that website - it isn't on about the Magna hopper - its on about some other crap :confused:

yes, yes it is......BUT..............how do you know it's the new hopper?...they dont show it at all, mention anything about a new hopper and all you see is the barrel ;) :p
Manike was in touch when the pics first got leaked and they were trying to get them off the net and gave us the link to keep everyone interested.
Re the new features, I can see the magnetic clutch being a big help with the more fragile paints as it will be hard to break anything if it's set up correctly. I did hear tell the guts can be put into any reloader shell but that's still TBC.

makes you wonder why they have gone for the front feedneck configuration when most other hoppers (egg aside) go for a cetral mount.

I still have may egg 2 as a backup and never had any real problems with balance, recently upgraded to a reloader b, only used it once so can't give too much comment on the difference.

If we're talking about development and improvment it does appear to be a step back...

Front feedneck i would think gives less of a prorfile above the barrel causing less to be shot from a slight angle sideways?
