About 1-2mm of the bolt showing is recommended for timmys.

Most markers are(or used to be atleast) recommended to have a sliver of bolt showing, like a properly time cocker with the trigger held back.

the recommended amount for timmys and prolly marq's is 1/16" or about 1.6mm
