Hiya,

recently been paintballing a few times with some friends and have come to really enjoy the sport, but now i think it's time to get my own marker rather than use the rentals.

I've done some research, and have narrowed down my choices down to the PMR or the SP Epiphany. However, i can't find anywhere that compares the two, and just wondered if anyone here had any knowledge of the pros and cons of each (i know a bit about certain bits to replace immediately eg the plastic back cap and the feed neck of the PMR).

Thanks for the help :)

To be honest.. The back cap DOES need changing but the feedneck is actually fine, I've had no problem with mine.

All you need is the back cap(I felt a little air coming out of mine, not a major amount..) and instead of the feedneck, get an on/off.

The SP epiphany is nice, but from what I have seen they leak, but what guns don't after a while :).

Edit: But they're nice guns and shoot well.. Only down about it is... You have to take off the reg to adjust the velocity, the PMR has the velocity adjust screw shown already.

You been playing in the woods or sup air as if it's woods some sites will not let you use certain gats as punters ****e themselves. If it's woods i'd reckomend an ion or tippman A5 but if it's sup air any gat is good really as long as its electronic.

Cardboard box alongside M53
With 250 smackers you could get:

Invert mini
Ego 05
Etek (with a bit of haggling anyway)
Shocker sft
PMR

These are the gats to look at but you should try them before you buy them, go to a walkon and if you see a gat you like (as long as it does not have ego 7 or sl74 stamped on the side ;)) just ask the owner if you can have a hold of it and you can see how the gat feels in your hands and whether you actually like it or not :)

personly on a budget of 250 ish i would steer clear of ions most people who buy them decide to upgrade pretty soon to something shiney

but would be tempted to buy new for a first gun

owned a rail and did like it but was not the gun for me would take it hands down over a smart parts gun nothing to do with performance both can do the same ect ect

but dye's after sales service is excellent

if you decide on 2nd hand you could pick up a nice pm6 for £200 maybe lower and a hell of a lot more gun for your money than the pmr plus dye will still help you out with problems think its life time warrenty in the uk atm

waiting for the ego crew to speak up now with the buy a 05 ego

own a ego myself but found the proto simple to look after clean the bolt relube after every days play and away you go what could be more simple
