Hi guys I have put this in the wanted section too. I have put this in the Newbie section since I might need to import and was wondering if anyone has done that before. Before anyone comments, I have read the rules about grey importers and I only want one marker for my personal use and will source from the UK if possible. Thanks.

------

I was wondering if it was possible to buy a Redz Ion in the UK with all the Redz upgrades fitted from the factory, rather than buy standard Ion then buy the Redz body kit, the on/off ASA, the pepper barrel and all the internals and fit myself. In the USA the Redz version is only $100 (about £50) more than the standard version and you get a lot for the money.

Does anyone know the rules on importing markers from the US and what the import duty is like etc etc. I would prefer to by British but if it's not available over here I'm kind of stuck.

The USA price is $349 which is about £175.

Simple ask the seller to mark the value as under $100 and that it is a gift no charges. If paying charges your looking at around £35 and post office charge you £8 for sending you a letter saying you ow it.

Thanks for the info guys. jknight15, I checked that customs link but couldn't find a tariff for air weapons or paintball markers. I could live with an extra £35 on top (it that is the rate) making it a nice £200 marker with a free jersey to boot.

The other thing that is slightly worrying is the U.S. version has two more additional firing modes than the European version; 3 shot burst fire and full auto. I wonder why the European version does not. Perhaps there is a law prohibiting automatic air weapons, in which case the marker would probably be impounded by customs and destroyed grrrr.

as far as i know you not allowed to use fully auto in this country & also your getting a free shirt & you still might have to pay tax on the value of the goods even if it free..

Si, I suspect that customs (US or UK) would keep hold of it for ages whilst them "umm and aaah" about whether they want to class the gun under "Section 5" of the International Transportation of Firearms Act.... I had probs in my old job (airfreight) just with regular .22 air rifles cos no-one ever seems to know what guns fall into what categories (customs included) - PAH!

Basically unless you have a very good mate in the US who could buy it, strip it to get it through customs and then ship the stuff to you as a gift, i wouldnt get my hopes up if i was you on dodging the charges they slam on stuff coming in :(

Hell it was pure luck my gf was on holiday in florida when i was looking for a mirror grill lense (not sold here yet) and she happily bought it and brought it back with her
