You really should try out both before you decide. The differences between these two markers are huge and they feel/shoot completely different. It's going to come down to what you prefer the feel of and the only way to know that is to try both.

haven't shot the pm7, have shot a pm5 and a pm6 and an ego 6.

the pm's are kinda softer, with less kick than the ego which felt more edgy (sounds strange but the only way i can think to describe the difference)

try the ego and if you fall in love with (like i did) then go for it, if not then go for the proto... either way neither of the two markers should let you down

I agree with Syd on this one. If you like the feel of smooth hands or rough hands is your opinion, not anyone elses. If you like the look of them, go to a tourney and try other peoples (everyone is friendly).

If I told you I liked the feel of PM's because I have a PMR doesn't make your opinion change. Each person is different and so is each marker.

Personally a PMR to me is much different to a pm7. 7's are quite nice, but chunky like the older Dyes, same grip  so i would want to get an ultralight frame, The feel of the PMR to me is horrible

You cant try the Pm7?

Yet you ahve tried the 06 Ego and you want us to tell you which you should choose?

Would you buy a car before test driving it?

Go for what you have tried and tested. I used an 06 ego and Im happy enough.
