Space, whilst not populated by any particles of matter is awash with radiation; and so, theoretically, if you were to build an extremely thick lead container in space that shielded it from such radiation, would this then not be a better vacuum than space itself?

I'm just asking a question here :)
theoretically. but when i said you cant create a better vacuum....

you try convincing nasa to take up tonnes and tonnes of led just for the hell of it :p

i stand by my "it cant be done" although i should of said, it wouldnt be heh

in the ABYSS
he means stuff ( dark matter ) would still travel through the lead or any thing, even if the lead were a mile thick

Oh my god Revolt, you can't get out of it that way :)
You said you can't make a better vacuum than space, and it looks as though you can, it doesn't matter if NASA or anybody else for that matter doesn't wanna fund it ..the fact is.....what you said was wrong :)

And I am gonna butt out here coz I think this is gonna go down the road of people copy and pasting Google science snippets without having any idea of what they are talking about.

thats why i said

:p your right it "could" be done.... but as it happens i disagree :)

i dont believe that ALL of space is occupied by radiation... so perhaps there is a perfect vacuum, somewhere ! :) and youd have half the weight of the planet in led up there for no reason ;p

space is awash with radiation as you said , but is is also awash with other stuff that can pass thru lead and most things ,we are constantly being bombarded by particals from the left over of the big bang ,and these can pass thru most things they are passing thru us right now ,can you feel it!!,,, i prob still dont make sense
