As most of you guys will know, the Millennium locked our top divisions with a view to emulating the US and to at least try to look professional and arrange ourselves accordingly.

I am suggesting that we have now gotten to a point where we must sacrifice this to get the American teams back over here to compete against our best.
They provide an excellence of play, they provide soo much that isn't on that field of play ...... I would like to know people's views because it seems we are having real problems in keeping pace with them and our events lack something ..... in fact, we need them back, we need Yank teams to participate and not just being seconded into our teams to guest for events.

I think that in the long run we'll need more US teams in the CPL, but for now the Philly Dogs are doing a good enough job of beating up most the teams who play them. Massive respect to Ignition for beating them this weekend, but apparently the Dogs had suffered some inconveniences such as flights being diverted to Manchester airport and players arriving late/not at all for their match.

I completely agree that it would be good to see more full US teams in the Millennium Series, rather than players playing on different rosters, but right now I think it would be counterproductive to have more US Pros beating up European CPL teams.

Also, is there not a potential problem in actually encouraging these US teams to play the Millennium Series at all? Why travel halfway across the world to play an event that is second rate in comparison to Major League events a lot closer to home? XSV, for instance, have a CPL spot and as far as I know, not a single Excessive player has played on that roster this year; its been all Paintoon players.

These are just my initial thoughts on the matter, I would happily stand to be persuaded otherwise :)

I wouldn't go gettin all starry eyed over the lack of result from the Philly Americans, actually Magued predicted they would bomb.
I won't mention why he said they would but suffice to say, this was their first taste of Euro ball and next time, if in fact they send the same squad of players, I think they will improve drastically.

Makes sense to me! Me being cynical for a bit but surely, if in numerous other threads the reality of the death of Pro paintball as we know it is being discussed, it is unlikely that companies are going to fork out the added expense of playing in Europe?

Not saying we don't need Yank teams to expose the European Level but how realistic is it?

It's too soon and not needed yet - maybe in 1,5 year

Andy, a poll won't give us any answers mate, it just gives us some every raw unsophisticated data, we need to hear pros and cons, just as we are doing now, after we have let the thread run a little, then perhaps a poll would be appropriate.

Yank players love coming across, that's a given, how they view our events is somewhat academic here because in my opinion, we stand to benefit from them playing here but as to why they come over, I don't give a sh!t.

But some valid points are being made anyhows.

Nick, I'd be interested to hear your views on the following:- Do you believe our events will benefit if the top Yank teams were able to play here?
And i am talking about two major aspects, that of the positive effect they would have in dragging our talent level upwards and also that razzmatazz they undoubtedly bring to an event.

I would be interested to hear what the Yanks made of this Campaign compared to Crystal Palace in the past and the other Milleniums they have been to this year.
