As someone who spends a lot of time around people in their pants;) I've seen an awful lot of tattoos, and I'd say about 10% fall into the 'awesome, I'd have one like that' bracket, about 50% into the 'meh' catagory and 40% into the 'WTF were you thinking/drinking' group. It's amazing how many people get a small of the back job, armband or similar just because everyone else has one, which in my book is about the dumbest reason ever to mark your skin for life or thereabouts. The same goes for stuff seen on the tattoo shop wall; the number of women I've seen with the same little devil, dolphin or swallow tattoo boggles the mind and most of them did it just to have done it:rolleyes: The same goes for the older guys with forearms full of blotchy blue whatever that they now heartily regret but can't afford to have removed.

I've none myself but if I did it would be something personal and a design I'd done myself or had worked up for me with an artist. Just take a look at some of these for inspiration;

or my particular favourite;

on someone who has branded themselves an idiot for life:D

Yum, nothing like a 'tramp stamp' to make you look special :confused::D.

I don't like tribals. I want something done but if I get anything vaguely visable I won't get hired/do well at all at work, so I might leave it a few years, or not at all... I wanted a 3/4 Japanese sleeve & some on my chest & back but there's no way I could hide that under a short sleeved white shirt, if I can't get it all done I probably won't get anything, I'm not into the bits and bobs that don't match.
On another note...my boyfriend's got a baaaad quality tattoo (a winged phoenix/woman/thing)...but it's a big backpiece...it's not finished yet so hopefully he'll get some money and go get it finished properly instead of by his 'mate' who's only been going out of his bedroom for a few years :eek:.

Check out suicidegirls.com for some mint tatts. BEWARE, it is a bit porno.....
Suicide girls are awesome, if I were a lover of ladies, I'd love them for sure.

Just...a few funnies

Oh noes.
Not a good picture
I s'pose I'm more into piercings because I know if I ever outgrow them I can take them out and they'll heal, without having to go and get them lazer (etc) removed...requires a lot less commitment, forethought and money, which does for me :).

I think that thankfully companies are getting better with regards to tattoos and piercings.

I guess as people of the generation that like that kinda thing get involved in management the companies will then accept people with them.

I've only got the one visible tattoo (on the inside of my left wrist) but I'll hopefully have some more done later this year and there are several people that work with me that have full sleeves or other visible tattoos.

I've just been asked to apply for some jobs in the IT department of where I work, so it's definitely not holding me back.

But, some employers are still crap when it comes to tattoos etc, but hopefully that will change.

Not the police though :eek:, hopefully my ears will shrink back down (they're only 6mm so they should), but that's all I'm allowing myself to have at the moment apart from things not visible normally...if you want to get places you have to be whiter than white in appearances, morals etc (meh, what they can't know can't hurt them :)).

Depends what you do in the police though doesn't it? My friend Martin was in the police force and he had tattoos up both arms. But he wasn't a policeman as such, he was a manager in the control room.
