How's the Stako situation going?

I was reading somewhere about the fact that a reg is not subject to being tested, yet it holds back 4500psi so it should be tested?
Am i close?;)

As close as you could be, we have the test requirements for the bottles and it was wrongly believed that the regulator did not need to be tested as it was part of the system!
Powerball financed a legal company to have a closer look at the law and even liaised with the the government departments to confirm what was discovered.
It is believed that the regulator must be independently tested and if that is the case (and I have seen the documentation and believe they should be tested) all the regulators in use would not be legal unless they have.

I have also heard the other side of the argument and the claim that they do not have to be tested, logic tells me thats wrong but we will have to wait and see.
Nobody is claiming what you have on the end of your bottle is unsafe only that it should have been tested to prove it and to comply with European law.

It went bang, proper bang. Not fizzle pop.
Major bummer that the Fox Sports Net cameras didn't pick that one up. The footage would get a ****load of hits on youtube ;)

Seriously though, would probably helpful to a lot of peeps if someone had some kind official statement from HPAC with regard to using Stakos this weekend. Even an extra days notice could save a lot of peeps money if they can source a spare tank.

Official statement is that Stako can be used... No additional news have been published.

hold on, its CLAIMED to have gone bang. i dont think this is likely people, remember how quick HPAC banned stako's when they reportedly leaked, if one actually exploded im pretty sure they would have been even faster to ban them.

this just sounds like rumour mongering. has anyone heard from any official channels about any kind of bottle explosion? ill be willing to believe it when its a company/group statement not just a rumour.

In this case why don't regulators come tested like the tanks do?

Who tests regs, where are they and how much is it going to cost.

I thought they were banned state side becauses they hadn't been DOT tested not that they had failed it?
