As i know you all like to be kept up to date, as of now all Ego 7's will be shipped with the latest software: Version 3.10.
Before you all begin to panic and call your local Eclipse Dealer/Service Centre, the new software will primarily be available as a FREE upgrade at the Eclipse Tech Support Booths at the Mid Atlantic Open PSP event (4-6th May), the Tampa NPPL (11-13th May) and the Max Masters Millennium event (18-20th May).
After these events, more details will be released as to how, when and where you can get the upgrades, but for now the only places that you can get it are listed above.
The major changes incorporated in Version 3.10 over Version 3.00 are as follows -
1) On the PRESET menu, the SEMI preset has been replaced with the FACTORY preset. If this option is selected then all of the control parameters are restored to the following factory defaults –
LOCK = ON
MODE = SEMI
DISPLAY = TIMER
TRAININ = OFF
TRIGGER = OPTO
ROF CAP = OFF
BBSS = LO POWER
MAX ROF = 15.0bps*
LIGHT = 6s
OFF ROF = 12.0bps
SLEEP = 20mins
TYPE = STEP*
DWELL = 16.0ms(15.0ms on SL)
PULL NO = 4*
FSDO = 2.0ms
KICK IN = 5.0pps*
EMPTY = 4.0ms
SUSTAIN = 5.0pps*
BALL = 4.0ms
RATE = 50%*
DBOUNCE = LEVEL 5
RESTART = 0.0s*
GAME = 7:10mins
ALARM = 1:00mins
START = BUTTON
*Although set to these values, the parameters have no immediate effect due to default firing mode being ‘Uncapped Semi’.
2) Selecting any preset other than FACTORY will only change the following parameters -
MODE
TRAININ
ROF CAP
MAX ROF
OFF ROF
TYPE
PULL NO
KICK IN
SUSTAIN
RESTART
This means that personalised settings do not get reset when selecting presets.
CUSTOM is only displayed on the main screen if one of these parameters is modified by the user. This allows user to alter the debounce filters without upsetting referees.
)
3) On the HRDWARE menu, the SOLNOID parameter can be set to either LO POWER or HI POWER in order to control the amount of power put into the solenoid. This is useful when playing in sub 5 degree conditions.
4) On the HRDWARE menu, the BEEPER parameter can be set to either OFF or ON to control the operation of the beeper on the SL expansion board. If the BEEPER parameter is ON then the beeper will sound briefly when the game timer is started. When the game timer has reached the preset ALARM time the beeper will sound every second until the game timer reaches zero at which time the beeper will sound continuously until the game timer is reset.
5) On the HRDWARE menu, the SIG OUT parameter can be set to either OFF or ON to control the operation of the RF transmitter output on the SL expansion board. If the SIG OUT parameter is set to ON then the RF output will be driven every time a shot is fired from the Ego 7.
6) The battery indicator has been re-scaled in order to more accurately represent battery life in colder climates. This means that the indicator will appear to drain more quickly than in Version 3.00, however the Ego 7 will continue to function so long as there is at least one bar on the indicator. When the indicator starts to flash then the battery should be replaced.
All of these changes are also reflected in the latest edition of the Ego 7 Manual which is available to download from
