Yo.
Picked up an Ion from Justpaintball last week, my first marker. I was told on the phone that to use co2 on the marker would invalidate the warranty. However the manual advocates the use of co2 with an anti-syphon filter installed in the bottle. Also the warranty card that came with it has an American address to send to.
Couple of Q's:
1. Is the warranty still valid with co2 use or not?
2. Where do i send the warranty card to seeing as i'm in England?

3. Does anyone know where to get this sl33k/shocker lube in the UK for Ions? As to not use that invalidates the warranty as well it would seem.
Cheers.

Your best chance is to go over to air mate :)

Marker will last longer, better accuracy, more consistent etc etc :D

Also can pick up some sl33k on ebay at a good price :) Also there mite be some chaps on these here forums that could help you ;)

NEVER use co2 on it m8. they say its ok but it aint. i reckon its to get more sales and perhaps it will work for a while but u'll f**k up the internals in a rapid fashion. listen to Just's advice and dont do it.

u would of been better off asking on here 1st for advice. if its for site use then perhaps a tippmann or something but an ion is built for air mainly and with it having a solenoid it isnt recommended putting co2 thru it with or without an anti-syphon fitted to yer bottle. might be worth joining a local team and competing in sup'air tourny thus not waisting all that hard earned cash on yer marker.

agreed with all of the above, as co2 with seriously **** your ion, i have seen it happen then laughed but anyway, as for the ss33lk lube contact warped sports in wolverhampton for it or use smart parts shocker lube does the same job, have a look on the warped website for their contact number, they are also an ion stockist and specialists so always useful when your ion decides to die on you for no apparent reason, so yeah hope this helps

I thought it through and decided i'd take the risk myself. I'm working at a paintball site primarily to raise funds to go travelling in a year or so. The gun doesn't have to last me forever so i'll have to see how it goes really.

I work 7 days a week between two jobs, wouldn't have the time, not to mention any actual ability! lol

Does he allow usage on the site or just no filling up on it?
No usage on site, apparently he can't be responsible for it.

hmm i woulda thought there woulda been more problems when using co2 with the hot weather and watnot. there are risks with both but co2 bottles in the heat arnt good. working at my local site sunday we had about 10 guns go down in a big venting way with 3 blowing their burst discs and 1 blowing its expansion chamber/front grip clean off of its thread :X luckily i wasnt holding it at the time :D the site manager was muhahaha !

Air usage at sites

I think it's more to do with insurance purposes and the fact that for a site to use/have air they might need to have a 'qualified air tech' whatever that means, not to mention that your typical co2 bottle is about 800-1200 psi and air is at least 3000 psi.

comes down to cost in the end.

C02, not good with any current electronic marker, Ions included.

Chech out the sticky at the top of the techroom thread as it has lots of useful Ion info, but at least you read the manual first :D
