Ez.
This is my first post but i doubt it'll be my last.
I've just bought my first marker and co2 cylinder. I've bought an anti siphon filter and need to fit it.
From all the guides i've read it's insisted you use threadlocker glue (Loctite Red recommended). I found Red Loctite Threadlocker but only found medium strength. My long winded question is: will the medium strength version be enough?

Cheers for any advice.

Do you definitely need Co2? as getting a cheap air system would solve a lot of problems. If your site can do air fills it will be consistent from one shot to the next without Co2 expansion problems. I know it's a bit late if you have already bought the co2 bottle but there is less and less Co2 being used these days. Back to your Loctite Q Yes medium would be fine as the tube is not going to be a big movement issue and I would only use a drop on the siphon tube to reg and none on the reg to bottle thread.

Hope this helps

Cheers for your reply Clompy.
I would rather run air, especially as i've bought an Ion and i've read up on the problems that can occur. Unfortunately the site i marshall at only accomodates co2 so i have no choice.
It's a big shame as i took the gun to the site yesterday to test it out with one of the site's cylinders. If i attempted to fire at any decent speed the gun would only run about 5 shots before cutting out. The bottle froze over extremely quickly too, was covered in ice by the time i'd shot off about 300 balls.

There is always the option of a dive tank. It costs a bit for the outlay with an adaptor but frees you up to run air wherever you want to. Pretty sure you are gonna damage your Ion if you run Co2 through it repeatably.

My manager said yesterday he couldn't allow air bottles on the site because he can't take responsibility for them, does that sound right?
Can you point me in the direction of good information on air as i've not got a clue about it? A million questions i know but i'm really new to paintball.
Cheers again.

Don't attempt to fit the co2 valve yourself. it needs to be fitted using a torque wrench. Too loose and the valve may come unscrewed, too tight and the valve may shear off - neither option particularly attractive.

What site do you work at? If it's a DF site send up your tank and your gun with the manager on a van run and i'll fit your valve and antisyphon at head office f-o-c.

Hi, yep i'm at Springwood site, the manager's mentioned your name a couple of times as it goes.
I managed to get the valve fitted a few days ago, my mate had a few tools so i let him take charge of it, also used some threadlocker on it. If you still reckon it needs looking at i could send it up? It's had use a couple of times now and seems ok so far.

Is your mate experienced at fitting valves? If not then yes, send it up with Craig and i'll remove old valve and fit a new one. I will need your gun so i can set antisyphon up correctly. With the valve fitted by your mate (and not by me) you're not allowed to use it at SW anyway. I can give you a letter of approval to say you can use this tank at DF if i fit the valve.

BTW this service is available to anyone (marshals or paying customers) who plays regularly with their own kit at DF centres. If i fit the valve and check the tank i can give you a letter of approval to use it at any DF centre.
